Therapeutic LASER Services

Therapeutic LASER (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) services involve the use of concentrated light beams to treat various medical conditions. These treatments can range from pain management and tissue repair to dermatological procedures and surgical applications. LASER therapy promotes healing by stimulating cellular activity, reducing inflammation, and improving circulation in targeted areas. It is non-invasive and often provides efficient relief with minimal discomfort, tailored to meet individual patient needs for enhanced recovery and improved quality of life.

Laser Iridotomy

Laser iridotomy is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat certain types of glaucoma and prevent further damage to the eye. During this procedure, a focused beam of laser light is used to create a small hole in the iris (colored part of the eye). This hole helps to improve the flow of aqueous humor, the fluid that maintains eye pressure, thereby reducing intraocular pressure (IOP). By lowering IOP, laser iridotomy can help prevent or manage conditions like angle-closure glaucoma, where the drainage angle of the eye becomes blocked. The procedure is typically quick, safe, and effective, often performed on an outpatient basis with minimal recovery time.

Panretinal Photocoagulation

Panretinal photocoagulation (PRP) is a laser treatment used to treat proliferative diabetic retinopathy, a complication of diabetes affecting the blood vessels in the retina. During PRP, a laser is used to create hundreds of tiny burns on the retina’s periphery. This helps to shrink abnormal blood vessels and prevent them from leaking or causing bleeding, which can lead to vision loss. PRP aims to reduce the risk of severe vision impairment and is typically performed in multiple sessions, depending on the severity of the condition.

Barrage Laser Photocoagulation

Barrage laser photocoagulation is a procedure used to treat retinal tears or to prevent retinal detachment. During the procedure, a laser is applied to create small burns around the retinal tear or lattice degeneration. This treatment forms a barrier of scar tissue, sealing the tear and preventing fluid from passing through and causing detachment. Barrage laser photocoagulation is typically performed as a preventive measure or in cases where there is a high risk of retinal detachment due to retinal tears or degeneration. It is a relatively quick and effective outpatient procedure aimed at preserving vision and preventing serious complications.
